Past Continuous Tense Examples in Hindi

English Grammar में Past Continuous Tense के अन्दर ऐसे वाक्यों को रखा जाता है, जो भूतकाल में जारी थे। हिंदी वाक्यों की पहचान वाक्य के अंत "रहा था/रही थी/रहे थे" इत्यादि से किया जाता है. इस आर्टिकल में हमलोग इन्ही examples की मदद से इस tense को समझने और अभ्यास करने का प्रयास करेंगे।

संक्षिप्त में बताता चलूँ की इस टेंस में 'था' के लिएー was और 'थे' के लिएー were शब्द का प्रयोग किया जाता है. वाक्यों में क्रिया शब्द को चौथे रूप (V4) में प्रयोग किया जाता है।

आपकी सुविधा के लिए इस रुपरेखा को वाक्यों की प्रकृति के अनुसार पांच भागों में विभाजित किया गया है, जिनकी सूची नीचे दी गयी है:-

Affirmative Sentences

1. मैं दौड़ रहा था। ➔ I was running.
2. वह विमल खा रहा था। ➔ He was consuming Vimal.
3. पुष्पा रो रही थी। ➔ Pushpa was crying.
4. माँ खाना बना रही थी। ➔ Mother was cooking.
5. लोहा गर्म हो रहा था। ➔ The iron was getting hot.
6. किन्नर नाच रहे थे। ➔ Kinnars were dancing.
7. ट्रेन आ रही थी। ➔ The train was coming.
8. आपलोग तैयार हो रहे थे। ➔ You were getting ready.
9. परशुराम भाला उठा रहा था। ➔ Parashurama was lifting the spear.
10. मोहन गाली दे रहा था। ➔ Mohan was abusing.
11. हवा चल रही थी। ➔ The wind was blowing.
12. बारिश हो रही थी। ➔ It was raining.
13. लोग हँस रहे थे। ➔ The people were laughing.
14. पंक्षी हवा में उड़ रहे थे। ➔ The birds were flying in the air.
15. पुलिस जाँच कर रही थी। ➔ The police was investigating.
16. नेता लोग भाषण दे रहे थे। ➔ The leaders were delivering speeches.
17. लालू सो रहा था। ➔ Lalu was sleeping.
18. अजय घर में काम कर रहा था। ➔ Ajay was working in the house.
19. बच्चे हल्ला कर रहे थे। ➔ The children were making a noise.
20. मैं मुस्कुरा रहा था। ➔ I was smiling.

Negative Sentences

1. टाइफाइड ठीक नहीं हो रहा था। ➔ Typhoid was not getting cured.
2. हमलोग नहीं पढ़ रहे थे। ➔ We were not reading.
3. पूजा बाल नहीं सँवार रही थी। ➔ Puja was not combing her hair.
4. नन्हे बालक नहीं चहक रहे थे। ➔ The little children were not chirping.
5. वह नाक से घी नहीं पी रहा था। ➔ He was not drinking ghee through his nose.
6. मैं लड्डू नहीं खा रहा था। ➔ I was not eating laddu.
7. सबलोग धुप नहीं झेल रहे थे। ➔ Everyone was not facing the sun heat.
8. कुत्ते नहीं भौंक रहे थे। ➔ The dogs were not barking.
9. मुन्ना मसखरी नहीं कर रहा था। ➔ Munna was not making a joke.
10. अच्छे लड़के मिर्ज़ापुर 3 नहीं देख रहे थे। ➔ Good boys were not watching Mirzapur 3.
11. पानी नहीं उबल रहा था। ➔ The water was not boiling.
12. आंटी पुलिस नहीं बुला रही थी। ➔ Aunty was not calling the police.
13. बच्चे तितलियाँ नहीं उड़ा रहे थे। ➔ The children were not flying butterflies.
14. बारिश नहीं रुक रही थी। ➔ The rain was not stopping.
15. मजदूर काम नहीं कर रहे थे। ➔ The workers were not working.
16. सूरज आँख मिचौली नहीं खेल रहा था। ➔ Suraj was not playing hide & seek.
17. शिक्षकगण नहीं पढ़ा रहे थे। ➔ The teachers were not teaching.
18. आसमान में बादल नहीं गुजर रहे थे। ➔ The clouds were not passing in the sky.
19. वे लोग तुम्हारा मजाक नहीं उड़ा रहे थे। ➔ They were not making fun of you.
20. अंजू शांतिपूर्वक नहीं बैठ रही थी। ➔ Anju was not sitting peacefully.

Interrogative sentences (Yes-No Type)

1. क्या तुम मजाक कर रहे थे? ➔ Were you joking?
2. क्या बाजार बंद हो रहा था? ➔ Was the market getting close?

Negative Interrogative Sentences
